(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson gave his seventh “State of the City” address Tuesday at the same place he, along with other city officials, began the so-called war on crime - The Wheeler-Dowe Boys and Girls Club on Indy’s northeast side.
Peterson outlined what he calls an "ambitious" agenda, including continuing that war on crime by asking the state legislature for more funding to improve the criminal justice system.
Peterson also talked extensively about the on-going "dropout crisis" in the city and combating that, through community outreach.
Peterson recapped 2006, including the creation of the "Indy Neighborhoods Project" and the various art pieces that popped up all over the city.
