(INDIANAPOLIS) - Warren Township administrators are just now talking about two students who engaged in sexual activity last semester in a Raymond Park Middle School classroom.
The school's parent teacher student association held its regular meeting Tuesday evening, allowing Superintendent Doctor Peggy Hinckley, Principal Kathy Deck, and local psychologist Steven Couviollion to address parents about the incident which school officials say happened in an industrial arts classroom on December 20th.
Hinckley drew criticism for failing to immediately notify parents that the incident occurred. She and other administrators received mostly praise and support in their handling of the incident.
However, others attending the meeting were upset. Hinckley says the school corporation is reviewing its response of the crisis to determine how it could have been better handled it. The corporation has hired a public relation firm to help it manage the crisis from here.
The two students accused of having sex in the classroom have been disciplined. Hinckley says the teacher in charge of the classroom, where the incident occurred, will not be disciplined.
