(STATEHOUSE) - A state senate committee has pushed forward a bill which would up the amount of dollars allocated to preserving the state’s covered bridges.
Under provisions of the law, each county would get almost 50 percent more money per bridge for the purpose of maintaining the structures.
The state has 79 bridges which receive funding, including 26 in Parke County alone. The bill will now go before the full Senate.
