(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis Metro Police say they shot an armed man who shot at them Sunday on the city’s east side.
Lieutenant Doug Scheffel says 22-year-old Donald Woods broke into a house, trying to rob the homeowner.
Police say the victim struggled with woods, causing the gun to discharge before he fled the home.
Authorities say Woods then went to a house just around the corner and shot at an officer. The officer shot back, striking Woods three times.
Woods is in serious condition.
