(FISHERS) - With St. Patrick’s Day approaching, law enforcement across the area are gearing up for more patrols over the weekend to look out for drunk drivers.
Sergeant Steve Pickett with Fishers Police says they're adding patrols and paying for the overtime this weekend with a grant from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
Pickett is stressing to people to use common sense, as well as a designated driver for St. Patty's day celebrating. Pickett says, while Fishers hasn't had any fatal accidents around St. Patrick's Day, the town has seen its share of crashes where alcohol was a factor.
This is part of the Hamilton County traffic safety partnership.
