(RICHMOND) - Richmond and Wayne County officials are putting in a bid to host a 2008 presidential or vice presidential debate.
Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County President James Dinkle tells "Inside Indiana Business" that a national debate of this kind could have an economic impact on East Central Indiana of about 43 million dollars.
The city says it would host the event in the Civic Hall, which meets requirements outlined by the commission on presidential debates. Dinkle says the event would bring international attention to the region.
