(INDIANAPOLIS) - More than 30-thousand firefighters and first responders from around the country and the world are in Indianapolis this week for the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference.
Attendees will spend part of the week learning the latest techniques in various responses including live burns, hazardous materials and disaster response. Wayne Township Fire Department Captain Troy Wymer says representatives from firehouses across the country come to learn the latest techniques to take back home.
The event also features a vendor display of fire trucks, suits, and equipment at the Indiana Convention Center.
Wymer says the training sessions are exclusive to firefighters and first responders, however the vendor display is open to the general public with the purchase of a convention pass.
The conference is facilitated and sponsored by Fire Engineering Magazine and Pinwheel Publishing.
