(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Corrections is taking steps to make sure another prisoner is not mistakenly released.
This after a man convicted for 2005 attempted murder of a Marion County police officer was recently released on bail in Hamilton County. D.O.C. Chief of Staff Randy Koester says there was no paperwork in their system to reflect a hold on Ronnie Williams.
Police caught up with Williams at his girlfriends' parents' home Monday, but had use a swat unit before surrendered.
Koester says the doc is trying to figure out how the paperwork mistake occurred, in fact, they're meeting today to discuss it.
Williams is now back behind bars on his way back to serving a 94 year prison sentence.
