(INDIANAPOLIS) - Producers for the Discovery Channel are in Indianapolis this week to prepare a new documentary about the ordeal of the world war two warship, the USS Indianapolis.
The cruiser was torpedoed near the end of the war. Just more than three hundred sailors survived the sinking and subsequent five days at sea. About nine hundred lives were lost.
The Discovery program will focus on the sailors' fight to survive against the elements and the sharks.
The program will air in august.
