(LIGONIER) - About three-thousand honey bees delayed a fund-raising walk in Ligonier over the weekend.
The swarm temporarily disrupted the American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" when it emerged from the woods and surrounded the West Noble High School football field.
About 700 people were evacuated from the area after the bees landed on a large umbrella.
A beekeeper used a smoke machine to calm the bees and coax them into a beehive. No injuries were reported.
