(VINCENNES) - Several environmental and consumer groups are partnering to oppose plans for a new two-billion dollar coal-fired generating plant in Southwest Indiana.
Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana, Save The Valley, the Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter and Valley Watch have filed testimony with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, which is scheduled to begin evidentiary hearings on June 18th.
Duke Energy and Vectren have proposed a new 630 megawatt plant in Knox County.
