(MISHAWAKA) - The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is touting the expansion of BMV services throughout the state to include “one-stop shop” partnerships with several auto dealerships.
Commissioner Ron Stiver says the partnership offers titling and registration services at automobile dealerships at the time of a car sale.
The eight-week pilot program started with Jordon Motors in Mishawaka in early May and has attracted twelve other dealerships around the state so far.
More than 500 successful customer transactions have been completed at the dealerships during the pilot period.
Four additional dealerships are expected to sign on by the end of June, with a total of 50 expected by year end.
Stiver says the BMV ultimately plans to expand the service to motorcycle and watercraft dealerships. Indiana joins 25 other states offering titling and registration services at car dealerships.
