(WASHINGTON) - Cans of recalled food are bursting, apparently swollen with the bacteria that causes botulism.
The bursting cans are among those being held by Castleberry's food company. Its massive recall now includes more than 90 potentially contaminated products, including chili sauces and dog foods.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a couple from Indiana is among four people who have been hospitalized by the contaminated food.
An epidemiologist working on the botulism cases in Indiana says large grocery stores here have pulled the products, but some smaller outlets have not.
