(UNDATED) - Before you put a contract on that house, be sure you do your homework first. For a lot of recent home buyers, new tax bills were unveiled after they put a contract on a house.
Real estate attorney Steve Glazier says it will be hard to get out of that contract, without losing your earnest money, if you didn't put a contingency in that contract.
For those house shopping in counties that haven't mailed new property tax bills yet, Glazier says the new tax rate should be easily accessible.
