(KOKOMO) - Howard Regional Health System got a surprise this week with an unexpected visitor.
Kokomo police responded to a report of a deer that had crashed through a window at the hospital. The deer was described as a doe, weighing about 100 pounds and it jumped through a window of the old emergency room entrance on the south side of the hospital.
The deer eventually was cornered in the basement by hospital officials. The Kokomo Humane Society then sedated the animal.
No one was injured in the incident, but the deer was euthanized due to its injuries from breaking through the glass.
