(PLAINFIELD) - A con artist warning has been issued by Duke Energy officials.
They say a man claiming to represent an energy efficiency company coaxed his way into a Milan couple's home. He was able to get inside the house by offering a free energy evaluation of their residence. While he was talking with the couple, another man stole cash and valuables from their home.
Duke Energy customer relations manager Nisa Hensley says if someone comes to your door claiming to do energy or utility work, ask for company identification. If you have any doubt, don't hesitate to call the company for verification. Call police if you feel someone is suspicious.
