(SELLERSBURG) - Indiana State Police say the driver that fatally struck a man walking on Interstate 65 is cooperating with authorities. The driver has not been charged.
Police Monday found the man and his 1994 Mazda. The Indiana State Police post at Sellersburg received a 9-1-1 call Sunday reporting a dead man on the southbound side of I-65 near the Henryville exit.
The body was later identified as 24-year-old Tommy Wheeler of Scottsburg.
Investigators believe Wheeler was driving south when he had car trouble and began walking toward the exit ramp. Police believe he was struck as he tried to cross the interstate.
