(ANGOLA) - Indiana State Police have arrested 3 men on charges of promoting animal fighting.
Police obtained a search warrant for a property in LaGrange County and found 36 fighting roosters, 3 of the birds were dead. Another 3 later died from injuries related to cock fighting. In all, 101 birds were removed from the property.
Along with the roosters, there were 36 sharpened fighting spurs that are attached to the birds during fights.
Police also found medical syringes used to inject the roosters with supplements that increase the stamina and strength of the birds.
