(PARAGON) - Paragon will get to keep its police department.
The town board voted to keep the small department. Rumors of disbanding the department began after a request by Fire Chief Danny Dotson to eliminate the Town Marshal position.
Some Paragon residents told the town board they were afraid for their safety, without a police department. The town has two paid officers, one full time and one part time, as well as five reserve officers.
