(INDIANAPOLIS) - A state trooper is expected to recover after being hit by a car along Eastbound 465 this morning.
State Police say Hank Kalina was standing on the passenger side of a vehicle he had pulled over when a box truck slammed into the stopped vehicle and hit him. Kalina was airlifted to Methodist Hospital and is expected to be okay.
Two women and a child inside the stopped vehicle sustained minor injuries. He's the second trooper injured on Indiana roads in as many days.
Trooper Gavin Wilson and five other people suffered minor injuries yesterday when a semi sideswiped Wilson's parked patrol car on U.S. 50 near Washington.
