(INDIANAPOLIS) - A break in the heat has allowed the Indiana State Fair’s attendance to break free.
Attendance was looking bleak during the fair's 12-day run due to the heat wave that rolled across the entire Midwest. However, decreasing temperatures allowed the state fair, which ended Sunday, to finish in the top-10 all-time fairs in attendance. Nearly 750,000 Hoosiers attended the fair in Indianapolis.
Next year will be the last year the fair runs for only 12 days. In 2009, the fair will be extended to 17 days.
