(INDIANAPOLIS) - Gen Con—the annual gaming convention—is underway in the Convention Center in Downtown Indianapolis. It runs August 16-19.
The convention is expected to as many as 26,000 gaming enthusiasts. Gen Con began 40 years ago in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, as a meeting between friends to play games.
The convention is a chance for the gaming community to come together and experience over five-thousand gaming events, celebrity appearances, and new games.
Organizers call Gen Con the quintessential "battleground" for all types of gaming. Attendees can participate in card games, board games, live-action role-playing games, computer games, and more.
