(INDIANAPOLIS) - The new Indiana Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network, otherwise known as InWARN, was launched yesterday at the statehouse in an effort to make statewide emergency response quicker and more effective.
InWARN was launched as Indiana's response to Hurricane Katrina and its emergency response problems on the second anniversary of the storm's landfall, with the idea of, "utilities helping utilities."
InWARN will allocate utility personnel, expertise, equipment and tools as needed to stem problems resulting from water and wastewater emergencies.
