(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana’s newest license branch is on wheels.
The BMV will debut a mobile license branch Wednesday at the state fair. You won't be able to get a first-time license or a commercial license there, but you can renew your license or your plates, or register to vote.
Commissioner Ron Stiver says the mobile branch will be at the fair throughout its 12-day run, then hit the road about three days a week after that, visiting local fairs and festivals, or places like nursing homes where residents are less mobile.
Stiver says the mobile BMV will sometimes sit in the parking lot of regular license branches, to open up two extra terminals during busy times.
