(ANDERSON) - The city of Anderson hopes to prevent crime and build community morale through “Operation Weed And Seed.”
The law enforcement initiative will use an initial payment of 175 thousand dollars from the U.S. Department of Justice to *weed out* crime while *seeding* social services and neighborhood restoration projects.
Anderson Department of Community Development Spokeswoman Kim Townsend says the plan will help cover officer overtime costs. It will also fund crime watch programs.
