Winning Powerball Ticket Purchased In Richmond

Last updated on Monday, August 27, 2007

(RICHMOND) - Do you hold the winning Powerball ticket, worth more than 314-million-dollars? If you do, you probably live somewhere near Richmond.

Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Kathryn Densborn says last weekend's winning ticket was sold at the Speedway Gas Station on Richmond's east side.

The lump-sum cash amount is 145-million, 985-thousand-dollars. The winning numbers are: 2, 8, 23, 29 and 35, the Powerball 19, and the Powerplay is 3.

Densborn says she expects to see the winner, or winners, soon at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Downtown Indianapolis. That's because several people could have bought a share of the ticket.

The winner has six months to claim the prize. Densborn says Indiana was the first state to claim a Powerball winner.

This isn't the first time that a winning ticket's been sold in Richmond. The Speedway store on Richmond's west side sold one in July 1998, and that jackpot was for 295-million-dollars.
