(INDIANAPOLIS) - A general David Petraeus tells congress that the U.S. mlitary can reduce forces in Iraq to pre-surge levels by next summer, a pro-troop rally is planned this week in Indianapolis.
The nation's largest grassroots organization, Move America Forward, is bringing its "Fight For Victory Tour" to Monument Circle Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Move America Forward member Debbie Lee is supporting the troop surge in Iraq, even though her son was the first navy seal to be killed in Iraq on August 2, 2006.
Gen. Petraeus testified in front of a house panel Monday, saying last winter's troop surge has "in large measure" met its military objectives, and should make a significant troop withdrawal possible by next summer.
Petraeus also said the Iraq government has failed to take the actions needed to stabilize the country.
