(GOSHEN) - An Elkhart County Jail escapee was caught at a home just across the state line in Michigan.
30-year-old Wesley Anderson of Goshen was being held on drug charges when he escaped last week, but was arrested without incident Saturday at the rural home near Union, Michigan. He was being held in the Cass County, Michigan jail.
Anderson's escape was noticed Wednesday, though authorities believe he might have been gone for 10 hours before guards realized he had escaped from the jail in the city about 20 miles southeast of South Bend.
Elkhart County officials say believe Anderson climbed into a ventilation duct and then worked through at least several inches of insulation, metal grates and roofing material before reaching the outside.
