(GOSHEN) - An Elkhart mother has pleaded guilty to killing her four young children last November and won’t face the death penalty under an agreement with prosecutors.
Angelica Alvarez pleaded guilty to four counts of murder and agreed to accept life in prison for the deaths of her children, ages 2 to 8.
The 27-year-old woman told Elkhart Circuit Court Judge Terry Shewmaker she gave the children sleeping pills before strangling them then tried to hang herself.
