(MUNCIE) - A Muncie officer is on leave pending an investigation of a confrontation he had with a man he found in his adult daughter’s bedroom.
According to a preliminary police report, 24-year-old Robert McCallum suffered a large cut to the forehead when Officer Jeff Leist struck him in the head with his service handgun on Sunday.
McCallum told police he was asleep and got up to get his shoes after Leist told him to get out.
Leist, however, said McCallum was sitting on the bed with his 26-year-old daughter Casey and got up in a threatening manner.
Leist claims he went to his daughter's home because she had not responded to telephone calls.
No charges have been filed.
