(LAPEL) - Police say two brothers broke into a 60-year-old cancer patient’s home in lapel and beat her with a golf club when she refused to turn over her painkillers.
18-year-old Timothy A. Parker and 20-year-old Christopher G. Parker are being held in jail. They're accused of stealing about 150 prescription pills _ including methadone, soma and xanax from the woman's home. They're also accusing of stealing about $180.
The woman, who suffered two broken fingers, several bruises and cuts and possibly a broken knuckle, was treated at an Anderson Hospital and released.
A judge on Monday gave prosecutors a 3-day extension to file formal charges against Timothy Parker, who is being held at the Madison County Jail on $35,000 bond.
Christopher Parker is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a probation violation, for resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
