(UNDATED) - Heating your home in Central Indiana this winter should be cheaper this year.
Vectren Chief Operating Officer Carl Chapman says the entire winter heating season from November through March should cost customers on average 660 to 700 dollars.
Last year, residents paid on average 735 dollars for a reduction of 5 to 10 percent. Chapman says the price forecast is based on today's price and a normal winter. The energy information administration is projecting a 6 to 10-percent increase in the price of natural gas.
Chapman says Vectren is able counterbalance the increase by buying gas in advance which also helps reduce price fluctuations.
