(UNDATED) - Defense attorneys for former Indiana state trooper David Camm, are taking their case to the state Supreme Court.
In a 21,000 word appeal filed Friday, Camm's attorneys claimed their client's conviction for his family's murder was a result of a drastically imbalanced playing field created by errors by the trial judge.
It also argues that claims made by prosecutors -- that Camm had molested his daughter shouldn't have been allowed in closing arguments.
In last year's trial, Camm was found guilty of murdering his wife and two children - back in September of 2,000.
He was sentenced to life in prison for the crimes.
The state's attorney general's office has 30 days to respond to Camm's 73-page appeal.
