(FORT WAYNE) - Officials with Aqua Indiana say they are bracing for more battles with the city of Fort Wayne.
The water utility and the city have been at odds since 2002. The city, under the authority of eminent domain, wants to assume control of the companies Northern Fort Wayne operations and could pay as much as 17 million dollars to do it.
Aqua Indiana says that figure is well below market value. The company claims the city has spent more than 1.2 million dollars in legal fees to acquire the company and the county would lose even more in tax revenue if it came under city control.
