(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indy’s Heartland Film Festival opens today.
The nine-day festival begins with a screening of "August Rush," starring Robin Williams as a mysterious stranger helping a street musician who was abandoned as a baby.
About 50 films will be shown at two theaters and the Indiana History Center. "Sixth Sense" star Haley Joel Osment, "Inside Edition" correspondent Lisa Guerrero and Disney Studios President Mark Zoradi are among those attending.
Osment co-stars in "Home Of The Giants," a coming-of-age tale against a backdrop of Hoosier basketball.
Other features being screened at this year's festival include "Lars And The Real Girl," a comedy starring Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling, and the life-under-the-Taliban drama "The Kite Runner."
