(MUNCIE) - A judge has shortened the sentence of a Muncie man who killed his girlfriend with a gunshot to the face.
William Balfour is eight years into a 30-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter. Delaware Circuit Judge Richard Dailey's ruling means he could be released as early as next November.
Prosecutors said last month they wouldn't fight Balfour's request for early release.
