(TERRE HAUTE) - Authorities say a Terre Haute woman was shot and killed by her ex-husband outside a hotel Wednesday night.
After the shooting, 28-year-old Major Jones led police on a high speed chase toward Indianapolis on Interstate 70, which ended with his death.
Four young kids were in the car during the chase - three were immediately released while one was held in the vehicle with Jones.
Police say Jones made a threatening move toward the child, and that's when police shot Jones in the head, killing him.
The children belonged to the couple, and they are currently being cared for by Vigo County Child Services. The woman is identified as 26-year-old Jessica Jones.
The trooper involved in the shooting is identified as 27-year-old Terry Watson, who is a three year veteran and a member of the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team.
