(MUNCIE) - A Delaware County grand jury will not pursue criminal charges against a police officer who used his gun to strike a man he found inside his adult daughter’s home.
Patrolman Jeff Leist testified that when he struck 24-year-old Robert McCallum in the head, the gun discharged. McCallum required 10 stictches to close the cut on his head.
The grand jury issued its decision Tuesday, a day after hearing testimony.
Because no criminal charges were filed, Leist faces no disciplinary action by Police Chief Joe Winkle.
