(NAPPANEE) - State officials hope to submit an application for a disaster declaration for three northern Indiana counties by early next week.
Elkhart, Marshall and Kosciusko counties were hit by a storm on October 18th that spawned a tornado that hit the city of Nappanee.
Congressman Mark Souder, who represents the area, says he's disappointed that the process hasn't moved faster, but he says officials do not want any mistakes in the application.
