(INDIANAPOLIS) - Over 26,000 people are already registered for the 2008 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.
With 75 percent of the field of 35,000 participants already registered, race officials expect an early sell-out. So far, runners and walkers have registered from 48 states and 7 countries.
The 32nd running of the nation's largest half- marathon is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 7:30am in Downtown Indianapolis. Nearly 99% of the current entrants have registered online at www.500festival.com.
Mini-marathon information packets were recently delivered to finish line stores and Marsh supermarkets around Indianapolis.
The Finish Line 500 Festival 5k is also experiencing record registration. To date, 1,181 people have registered for the 3,500 participant event.
Registration is also open for the 500 Festival Training Series, presented by OrthoIndy. Returning for its eighth year, the training series provides runners and walkers the opportunity to gauge their training progression for the mini-marathon.
