(WASHINGTON, D-C) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has rejected Indiana’s request to declare Elkhart, Kosciusko and Marshall counties disaster areas, after a tornado which barreled through the area a month ago.
The twister destroyed or damaged nearly 500 homes and businesses in Nappanee.
Indiana's Department of Homeland Security says the state will appeal the ruling.
