(ROCKVILLE) - The Indiana State Police is investigating claims that members of the Rockville High School football team raped a female classmate inside a hotel in Downtown Indianapolis.
Sgt. Joe watts says the 17-year-old victim and three male suspects were staying at the Homewood Suites last weekend as part of their school's participation in the state high school football championship.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses to determine if the students had been drinking prior to the alleged crime.
Watts says it could take several weeks before the investigation is completed and forwarded to the Marion County prosecutor's office.
The Parke County school has been contacted by police. No arrests have been made.
