(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour woman has received from the National Weather Service.
Ruth Everhart has been a weather spotter for 60 years. Everhart has talked to the weather service every day since 1947.
Mike Shartran with NWS says Everhart's work has been exemplary and she's already received two other longevity awards for her services.
Shartran says Everhart's reports are written very neatly and she calls every day at the same time with the temperature, precipitation rates, and the river levels in Seymour.
Weather spotters are volunteers who report information from all over the state.
Everhart will receive the Helmut Landsberg Award Sunday at the Central Christian Church in Seymour.
