(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana State Police are launching another high-visibility blitz against impaired drivers starting on Veterans’ Day.
The 2 week enforcement blitz will fire off this coming Sunday, and will continue on until the Saturday after Thanksgiving, with an overall goal of keeping families safe as they travel during the beginning of the holiday travel season.
Troopers will be hunting not only for drunk drivers, but also for drivers not wearing safety belts, citing statistics of 87 people dying last year between Thanksgiving and New Year's from accidents involving one or the other.
State trooper Dana Harshman says anyone found driving drunk or without a seatbelt will be arrested.
