(INDIANAPOLIS) - It will be the first thing travelers will see at the new midfield terminal at the Indianapolis International Airport—- city officials Tuesday unveiled the new sculpture that will serve as a welcome.
Entitled "IND," the massive structure is the work of Evansville native Joe Nicholson.
The three-dimensional piece is made up of six lighted pieces and will stand 28 feet tall and eight feet deep.
Outgoing Mayor Bart Peterson says the new midfield terminal presented a chance to showcase Indianapolis as a cultural destination.
