(INDIANAPOLIS) - The president of the Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association will retire at the end of June.
Bob Bedell has headed the association for five years. He led the successful effort to win financing for the Colts' new stadium and an expansion of the convention center.
Bedell says it's "the right time" to leave. He was a vice-president with ICVA for seven years, then left in 1993 to run the Saint Louis Convention and Visitors Commission.
He helped win approval for the new football stadium that persuaded the Rams to relocate from Los Angeles, then returned to Indianapolis as president in 2002.
