(EVANSVILLE) - A 49-year-old Evansville man is facing criminal confinement charges for allegedly holding a British woman against her will in his home for about two months.
Forty-one-year-old Sarita Callender says she traveled to Indiana in June after meeting Michael Anderson online. She told the Evansville Courier & Press that Anderson took her passport and money and threatened her with a sword.
She used a cell phone to call police while Anderson was out one day in August. Anderson was arrested about two weeks later in Indianapolis.
Callender says she still lacks the passport and money she needs to return home.
