(BLOOMINGTON) - IU fans are making travel plans to Tempe, Arizona for the Hoosier’s first bowl appearance since 1993.
Jim O'Connor is with Anthony Travel, IU's official travel partner. He says people started booking their trip the Sunday night IU was selected. They sold out their first hotel by early Monday afternoon and have sold out three hotels so far.
The huge crowd isn't in Tempe for just the bowl game either. Tempe also hosts a huge New Year's Eve celebration.
But Hoosier snow birds tend to flock to the southwest anyway. O'Connor says demand for travel packages have tapered off, but they're still available.
Just be aware a package does not include your game tickets or airfare to Phoenix which averages $650 per person.
