(SOUTH BEND) - A 22-year-old pregnant woman freed herself from a car that plunged into the St. Joseph River Wednesday afternoon.
The woman's car went over the median and hit a curb and pier before going into the water. She managed to get out of the car and was in the water about five minutes before rescuers could swim to her and pull her to safety.
