(SOUTH BEND) - Two South Bend police officers were injured when their squad cars collided as they were responding to a burglary in progress call at an auto dealership.
Corporal Jason King and Corporal Jason Stone collided at downtown intersection less than a block from the police station about 9:30pm Thursday.
King remains hospitalized in serious condition at memorial hospital. Rescue crews had to cut him from his vehicle. Stone was treated for his injuries and released. The driver of another vehicle that was struck in the crash was also hospitalized. That person's condition was not immediately available
Police say none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
